Cisplatin & Cervical Cancer: Benefits, Side Effects, and Life After Treatment

September 17, 2026 | 8 pm ET / 7 pm CT / 5 pm PT

Join us for an informative webinar on cisplatin as a treatment option for cervical cancer. UCLA’s Dr. Jordyn Silverstein, a medical gynecologic oncologist and co-leader of the medical gynecologic oncology clinical trials program at UCLA, and Dr. Nikita Baclig, a genitourinary oncologist and survivorship researcher, will discuss how cisplatin works, what patients can expect during treatment, and strategies for managing side effects and survivorship. The program will also address cisplatin-induced hearing loss, a potential long-term side effect that can affect quality of life. Our goal is to help patients and caregivers better understand treatment options, feel more confident in conversations with their care team, and be empowered to advocate for their health during and after treatment.

This webinar is sponsored by Fennec Pharmaceuticals.

Jordyn Silverstein, MD, MSc, Medical Gynecologic Oncologist, Division of Hematology/Oncology, University of California, Los Angeles

Dr. Jordyn F. Silverstein is a medical gynecologic oncologist at UCLA, caring for patients with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and vaginal/vulvar cancers at the Westwood and Encino cancer centers. She approaches every patient as a whole person, not just a diagnosis and works closely with each patient to manage side effects and support their quality of life during treatment. Dr. Silverstein is passionate about expanding access to the newest therapies through clinical trials, giving her patients options at the leading edge of cancer care. A lifelong Angeleno trained at Duke, UCSF, and UCLA, she’s proud to bring both compassionate, patient-centered care and cutting-edge research close to home.

Nikita V. Baclig, MD, PhD, Genitourinary Medical Oncologist, Division of Hematology/Oncology, University of California, Los Angeles

Dr. Nikita Baclig is a genitourinary medical oncologist and health services researcher at UCLA, where she cares for patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. She founded and leads UCLA’s Genitourinary Survivorship Clinic, focused on improving survivorship care across the GU cancer continuum. Dr. Baclig received her MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, completed internal medicine training and chief residency at the University of Washington, and fellowship training at UCLA. She recently completed a PhD in Health Policy and Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
