National Social Work Day

Today, we are honored to spotlight Morgan Newman, MSW, and Kimberly Williams, MHCM on National Social Work Day. Their journeys have not only led them to overcome personal challenges but also to emerge as strong advocates for themselves and our entire community. Let’s take a closer look at their inspiring stories.

Morgan Newman
Kimberly Williams

Morgan Newman, MSW
Transitioning from a career in dental assisting, Morgan embarked on a new path while facing her own cervical cancer diagnosis. Graduating with her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2021, Morgan brings a fresh perspective and a profound sense of empathy to her advocacy work. Her journey with cervical cancer empowered her to become an advocate for others, embodying the Cervivor mission of supporting and empowering those affected by cervical cancer. Morgan finds immense joy in aligning her work with her values and collaborating with a supportive team dedicated to making a difference.

Kimberly Williams, MHCM
With over two decades of experience in the social services field, Kimberly brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to ensuring fair treatment and access to care for individuals in underserved communities. Armed with two Master’s Degrees in Management and Healthcare Management, Kimberly’s professional journey intersects seamlessly with her personal experience as a cervical cancer survivor and thriver. She is driven by a mission to amplify the voices of those who may otherwise go unheard and finds great fulfillment in the diverse perspectives she encounters along the way.

The Importance of Social Work in Cervivor
Morgan and Kimberly exemplify the crucial role that social workers play in navigating and accessing services for individuals impacted by cervical cancer. Their personal experiences and professional expertise enable them to provide invaluable support to our community, empowering individuals to advocate for their health and well-being. As survivors themselves, they have walked the challenging path of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, emerging as advocates not only for themselves but also for the entire community. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to the Cervivor mission serve as a sign of hope and inspiration for us all.

Join us in celebrating Morgan and Kimberly for their efforts and the profound impact they continue to make in the mission to end cervical cancer!
